Marcy diamond elite weight bench with 140kg weight set

I bought this weight set through Tesco but it was supplied by Purefitness&sport for £549.99.Marcy offers a manufacturer warranty of 2 years for limited parts which is always great because there is nothing worse than one of the parts breaking when you've paid a lot of money for a product!

The set itself arrived promptly,quicker than expected actually,and was tightly packaged in strong plastic then placed in cardboard boxes.Be prepared to have strong scissors ready to open this treasure up! There were approximately 8 boxes delivered ,most of the boxes were taken up by the Olympic weights and one of the heaviest was occupied by the 7ft olympic barbell ; so be prepared for the first workout of the day,lifting the barbell to a convenient space.

The frame itself takes quite a while to assemble ,it took 1 person 4 1/2 hours to assemble everything.It is recommended that 2 or more people help to assemble this product to reduce the time taken to build.Also,this way you will have a lot more energy left to test this product out :)

Testing:The gym set on a whole is excellent,a variety of movements & exercises can be done without even leaving your home.For example,bicep curls,bench press,squats,leg extention,ab curls,ect...the list is endless.

My rating: 7/10.
Reason:The Olympic barbell set from Purefitness&sport comes with screw on collars and I much prefer spring collars because it tends to be much easier & quicker to change weights around.Also,if a weight happens to be dropped or hit against a surface the paint on the frame or the weights start flaking off (not happy about that).I suppose over time this is acceptable but not after a week.Although,that doesn't bother me too much ,as vinyl weights will wear.Additionally,the bench seat is adjustable however somewhat unstable when sitting on ,which can be daunting when concentrating on lifting a heavy weight.Maybe they can improve on this issue when manufacturing later models...
As for the manual ,it was fairly easy to follow considering the leaflet was just full of numbered diagrams.I could have helped if the diagrams were broken down into steps more and had a little description of exercises to do when using the bench when angled at a certain position or just some exercises to do,since some consumers that buy this product may not be your typical 'fitness fanatic' or a pro at the gym.

Overall:I would still recommend buying this olympic weight bench set as it is much more convenient than going out to the gym & it always works around your schedule!
